Submission to the National Children’s Commissioner on the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child Report -2018

In 2018, the national human rights institutions, such as the Australian Human Rights Commission, and civil society, can make submissions to the UN Committee to inform its deliberations. The Commission, in its role as a national human rights institution, is submitting an independent report to the UN Committee about Australia’s implementation of the CRC, OPSC and OPAC. The VCI submission to the Commissioner offers societal attitudes towards children as a contributing factor why some children are not faring as well as they should be and also offers solutions on what needs to happen in order for children’s rights and wellbeing to be placed at the centre of our considerations so that all children in Australia experience a safe, caring and supportive childhood.
