My Safety Network

A children’s resource by ChildSafe & The Valuing Children Initiative to help children in identifying their Safety Network.

A child’s safety network is a group of people, chosen by them, who makes them feel safe, provides them with support, assistance and, if necessary protection.

They are people who the child trusts and feels they can go to when they feel unsafe.

It is important for children to know that just because someone is an adult or tells them to trust them, that they don’t have to and it is their right to choose their own safety network.

This resource assists children to understand the characteristics of someone who they may welcome into their Safety Network and the people who they should not.
