VCI Ambassador Joshua Patrick's speech for 'Youth in Parliament Week' was read this morning by Hon. Melissa Price (Federal Member for Durack). Please take the time to listen to Josh's speech. At 14 years of age, Josh has lived experience of a number of important social issues that affect many in our society. He's also an articulate and passionate advocate for change.
Thanks to Raise Our Voice Australia, for giving young people the opportunity to be heard. As Josh's speech shows, young people have valid, relevant and important experiences, views and recommendations. It's crucial that our political leaders engage with children and young people.
From 21 to 24 November, politicians across the aisle will be amplifying the voices of other 80 young people in the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Federation Chamber.
Young people have the most at stake, but are the least likely to have their voices heard.
