WA Child Rights Alliance

We are very proud to be part of this history-making initiative to establish Western Australia’s first Child Rights Alliance.

We had a full and productive planning day on September 22, 2026 with more than 30 people across a range of organisations coming together to help lay the foundation.      

The gathering heard from experts in their fields across advocacy, research, legal, service providers and community members committed to advancing children's rights in Western Australia.

Why do we need a Child Rights Alliance?

Grounded in the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), the Alliance seeks to embed children's rights across culture, systems, legislation, policy and practice. 

It aims to elevate the voices of children and young people, influence policy and systems reform, strengthen collaboration across the sector, and build a unified movement committed to advancing children's rights and wellbeing. 

The Alliance also seeks to connect Western Australian efforts with broader national child rights initiatives and reform agendas.
