Valuing Children Initiative Ambassador Indigo Ellis won the ‘Youth of the Year’ award at the 2024 NAIDOC Awards.
Indigo Ellis, an inspirational Noongar Nunga girl residing in Boorloo on Whadjuk Boodjar is emerging as an achiever in the realm of music and advocacy. Since the tender age of 7, her mesmerising vocals and magnetic stage presence have captivated audiences, earning her esteemed recognition, including two NAIDOC Music awards and two WA Music (WAM) awards for her original composition "Home," incorporating Noongar language, and achieved at the remarkable age of 13.
As a passionate advocate, Indigo lends her voice as an Ambassador for the Valuing Children Initiative, championing the cause of Aboriginal mental health and youth welfare. As a vocal coach, she endeavours to ignite the flames of inspiration in the hearts of the next generation of performers.
With her sights set on international recognition, Indigo Ellis embodies a rare blend of passion, talent, and unwavering dedication to her culture, destined for a radiant future in music and advocacy.
